Biblical Principles for Earning Money.
Today, we’re discussing earning money, some call it, making money. The Bible is not silent about how we can earn or make money so let us find out what it says.
1. Earning Through Labor
The Bible encourages diligence in labor. Proverbs 10:4 (AMP) states, “Poor is he who works with a negligent and idle hand, but the hand of the diligent makes him rich.” By dedicating time and effort to meaningful work, we open doors to financial provision. Proverbs 14:23 reinforces this: “In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Whether through employment or self-driven projects, diligent work is a foundational way to earn.
2. Earning Through Business
The second method involves entrepreneurship—creating goods or services for others in exchange for income. Proverbs 31:24 celebrates the industrious woman who “makes fine linen and sells it.” By identifying market needs and meeting them, business owners establish financial independence and provide value.
3. Earning Through Investment
Investment is the third strategy, where money is actively deployed to generate returns. Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 (NIV) advises, “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” Diversifying investments ensures financial growth and security, multiplying wealth over time.
Applying These Principles
Begin by laboring diligently. Use your earnings to establish a business or invest in ventures that generate passive income. Combining these methods ensures sustained financial growth, allowing you to live in abundance while supporting meaningful causes. Be encouraged to take action from today so that you ay begin to earn or multiply what you are already earning.
